Administrative Assistant (Security Investigative Assistant)

The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant (Security Investigative Assistant) in the RSO Section.

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 10,101,293 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-07)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

This position is located in the Regional Security Office (RSO). The Security Investigative Assistant (IA) will assist the Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI)/Security Investigator for all security related activities associated with the U.S. Embassy. The incumbent will provide administrative support to an array of sensitive and complex programs such as the Background Investigations program, criminal investigations, perform records management and administrative duties as directed. Direct supervision by the Senior Foreign Service National Investigator.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Two years university degree in general studies is required.

2. EXPERIENCE : Minimum of three (03) years of experience in Law Enforcement, legal or security of which one year in administrative function is required.

3. LANGUAGE : English : Good working knowledge (Written/Speaking/Reading) is required. French : Fluency (Written/Speaking/Reading) is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Good computer skills in Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel. Must be able to drive vehicle. Ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must hold a valid driver’s license for at least five years. This may be tested.

JOB KNOWLEDGE : The incumbent shall possess knowledge of prevailing general practices and procedures in the security sector.
